Liner locks are a relatively strong type of blade locking mechanism for folding knives. The mechanism is based on a steel side-spring which, when opened, falls into the locking position and is then pressed sideways with the thumb to release the blade. It is extra practical if the knife is equipped with a thumb stud, then you can easily open and close the knife with one hand. The liner-lock is also self adjusting for wear.
