40 year anniversary
On March 12, 2024, Fällkniven celebrates 40 years as a company and we want to celebrate this by presenting two new anniversary models, Phantom Anniversary and F1 Elmax Anniversary, both of which will be sold in limited edition.
Phantom
Anniversary Model Phantom is not only a good-looking folding knife, it definitely also has the right proportions between handle and blade and of course the blade lock is of the liner-lock type. For the blade, we use an extremely advanced Swedish powder steel (Elmax from Uddeholm) which we have also given a convex shaped edge for best performance. The handle sides are from legally harvested desert ironwood from the US Southwest, a very special type of wood because it doesn’t float! The density is 1.2 kg/dm³ which also gives a handle material that is hard and durable.
Like anything else that is used, you should put some energy into caring for your folding knife. That it should always be really sharp is of course essential, a dull knife can slip and you can hurt yourself. In addition, the folding knife is best kept dry and clean, and this means that we do NOT recommend using oil or grease around the blade bolt. It is also adjustable if you want to adjust the inertia of the blade travel, be careful to add some thread sealant to prevent the T10 nut from unscrewing itself. Bolts, spacers and other things are available as spare parts should they be lost.
A few words about the design – as you can see, this is a fairly straightforward construction where we followed the three F’s, a more than 100 year old formula that means Form Follows Function and which is a genuine Scandinavian attitude to well-made utility knives. We’re not much for extra details and knick-knacks but prefer to design a knife so well that you don’t long for embellishments but are attracted to handle the knife for its classic, clean lines.
We finally chose to add a circular nickel silver medallion that is showing Three Crowns, the Small Swedish National Coat of Arms. Fällkniven AB has permission from the State Herald of Sweden to use the Three Crowns and we use that favor on knives where we put a little extra energy. The company has also been a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden since 1999 and thus has the opportunity to use the Great National Coat of Arms, His Majesty the King’s personal coat of arms, in our marketing. In 2024, we are therefore not only celebrating 40 years in the knife industry, but also 25 years as a royal court supplier with the same owner since the start in 1984.
The Phantom is delivered in a gift box together with an exclusive multifunctional leather sheath with a belt clip that can also be worn both horizontally and vertically on the belt.
