Slipjoint knives

Slipjoint knives

The slip-joint mechanism is a classic and also one of the most common folding knife mechanisms. It has a small metal spring which holds the blade in place in open or closed position, but does not lock the blade completely like a liner-lock or lock-back does. The release button is usually located at the back end of the spine.
